The mission of Triangle Bikeworks, is to expand the horizons of youth in the triangle area and provide opportunities for them to realize their own potential and exceed their wildest expectations.

Triangle Bikeworks (TBW) is a nonprofit with programs centered on youth leadership development and getting youth outdoors.

Triangle Bikeworks is unique in that we’ve found a way to engage youth in service learning projects, interact with diverse American cultures, have immersive experiences involving history and public speaking, travel and physical activity.  With this we see a positive transformation of the individual.

The Spoke’n Revolutions Youth Cycling program takes kids on cross country tours up to 30 days in length under their own power, on the seat of a bike.

In another program we give opportunities to compete with other youth which offers a safe and fun way to challenge themselves without it being the “end of the world” if they do not win.

We work with youth from middle school to high school. Just before the student becomes a junior we begin guiding them in the process of discovering opportunities for themselves after high school if needed; whether it be within a college or university setting or the National Civilian Conservation Corps.

Our bike advocacy event is Kidical Mass, which we try to do in the spring and fall at a minimum. Kidical Mass is a family friendly bike ride around neighborhoods where kids take over the streets and learn to be safe and courteous cyclists. We are proud to be the first organization to bring this fun and exciting event to North Carolina in 2011.

All youth will have the opportunity to develop physically, socially, and academically to their full potential, regardless of their background, resources, and opportunity.
