I’m walking across the middle of a large field in Chicago that someone decided to name Major Taylor Village. It’s not a name you’d find on any map it’s just what they decided to call the location for today’s bike ride. The field is lined with team tents from various cycling clubs from across the country therefore, there are hundreds of people here.
I’m walking with Jesse, one of the newest and youngest cyclists at Triangle Bikeworks. A group of us are attending the Major Taylor International Cycling Association conference this weekend. Because sometimes parents encourage students to join, not everyone comes to Triangle Bikeworks voluntarily. So, I’m trying to keep his “head in the game”, so to speak.
